Teacher Assisting Mark Colson's Stage Combat Class

During the fall semester 2023, I had the privilege of teacher assisting Mark Colson's stage combat class. I assisted undergraduate students with learning proper stage combat techniques, creating fight choreography, acting out fight scenes, and breaking down Shakespeare dialogue.  

The stage combat class also took part in STEAM fest, which is an event where children from K-6th grade explore and participate in a wide range of different subjects of their choosing. During STEAM fest, I led acting based activities such as the "Energy Pass" and "The Machine" for children attending our class. I also showed the children what a stage combat sword looks like and how to properly hold it. 

 I taught 16 children ages 8-18 basic script analysis and character creation techniques through acting games. These workshop lessons were all created and organized by me.  

 I educated and guided makeup workshops for over 60 children at Children's Community Theatre by showing them stage makeup techniques and tips for their upcoming shows.
